What this is

The Weekly Case publishes fictional murder-mystery games: a free case every week, paid Detective Pass cases, and Case Night / Date Night kits. Every story, person and business in our cases is invented. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental. Cases are written with the help of AI and checked for fairness.

Using the games

Buying a kit or a Detective Pass gives you a personal, non-transferable license to play it with your own group. Please don't publish codes, keys or case content. Codes that are shared publicly may be deactivated. You can print kits for your own games.

Payments

The Detective Pass and the party kits are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout, which acts as the merchant of record and handles sales tax/VAT for your country. Your statement shows LINK.COM* plus our name. We never see your card details. Older Detective Pass subscriptions on Substack keep working with the monthly key.

Refunds

Not happy with a kit or the Detective Pass? Tell us within 14 days (contact form) and we'll refund you. You can cancel a subscription anytime at link.com or from your Link receipt email; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Link support can also help with any payment.

Privacy

The game runs in your browser. Your progress, answers and codes are stored only on your device (local storage). We don't use advertising cookies or trackers. We use cookieless, aggregated visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to know how many people play. In Crooks, when you start and when you finish the daily case, the game sends an anonymous record (a random code made on your device, the date, your time, mistakes and hints; no name, email or IP address) so we can count daily players and show how you compare with other players. If you subscribe to the newsletter, Substack handles your email under its own privacy policy. When you buy something, Link (Stripe) handles your payment and receipt. We keep the email you paid with and what you bought, so you can restore your purchase on other devices; we use it for nothing else. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your email and message to reply.
